STATEMENT

Growing up in two very opposed cultures I always tried to find my place in between.
Questions of identity and belonging were part of my adolescence and occupied me in my early film works. I consider myself as a “Levantine” person, living in the field of tension and contrast between the “eastern” and “western” culture.
Questions about cultural heritage, perceptions and the domination of western culture are accompanying me today in my process of work. I work with existing materials and objects, they are taken from life and find their way to new constellations and form a synthesis. I also see my works as a metaphor for my attempt to connect between my two opposed worlds.
